Oct. 1, 2016: 10 am – 6 pm at Sacred Space Community Yoga Studio
Early Bird Rate before Aug. 31: $170
This workshop introduces you to simple yoga and mindfulness practices that are appropriate for educational settings to promote learning and a healthy classroom climate. Learn practices that can be integrated into a classroom setting to promote physical, mental, and social-emotional well-being among teachers and students.
The workshop includes short “brain breaks” – stretching and breathing exercises that can be used during transitional periods throughout the day to promote focused attention, self-regulation, and well-being. You will learn easy-to-teach poses that can be done safely right in the classroom. Discover ways to integrate yoga school into school curricula and meet prescribed learning outcomes while fulfilling the daily physical activity requirement. You will also learn yoga and mindfulness practices to support social and emotional learning.
You will leave with a ton of resources so that you are ready to start using the practices in your class right away! No previous experience with yoga is necessary.
This workshop is offered in a variety of formats (from 2 hours to 2 days). It can also be custom-created to meet the needs of your organization.
